When is casual attire permitted?

Casual attire (slacks and collared shirt; no jeans or golf shirts) is permitted in the Flagstone and Colonial Rooms during lunch Tuesday through Friday and in the 1870 Tavern. Collared shirt and jacket is permitted during Sunday evening dining (ties are not required).

Are cellular phones permitted?

The use of cell or other mobile telephones in the Club Rooms is strictly prohibited. In those limited circumstances which might require that a member or guest be immediately available by telephone (e.g., physicians on call), the cell phone’s vibration alert may be substituted for the ring but, upon receipt of an incoming call, or for the placing of an outgoing call, any and all cell-phone conversations must be taken outside the building.

What are the rates for private dining rooms in the club?

There is a $4.00 per person plus tax room charge for private dining rooms (minimum of $75.00).

How much does it cost to open the club during non-business hours for a private function?

There is a $400.00 opening fee outside of normal business hours. Who is permitted to utilize my membership account? A member and their spouse are permitted to use the member’s account in the Club. Special arrangements may be made with the Club Manager regarding dependent children under the age of 21 utilizing a member’s account. Guest Cards may be extended, at the member’s request, to any visitor who does not reside within or have their principal place of business within fifty miles of the city of Savannah. Said member is responsible for the conduct and debts of any visitor for whom they have a Guest Card issued. Non-members without a guest card may only be admitted and served when accompanied by a Host Member.

When are Senior Residents responsible for the Food & Beverage Minimum?

Each Senior Resident Member is responsible for spending a minimum of $375 semi-annually for food and beverage, including banquet sales. The semi-annual periods end June 30 and December 31. Any balance remaining for the current period will be reflected on your billing statement.

May I propose a new member?

Every member of the Club shall be elected by the Board of Managers of the Club. Resident members may submit the names of persons for proposed membership. The proposed member must be vouched for by at least two members of the Club. In addition, three letters of recommendation written by members must be submitted with the completed proposal application form. Please see Article VII of the By-Laws for a complete list of guidelines. (Refer to Schedule of Fees)

Once I receive my monthly statement, when is payment due?

Statements of account are mailed on the first day of the month. Payment is due on or before the tenth day of the following month. Please see Article X of the By-Laws for more details.

What is considered the “Resident Area”?

The resident area includes Chatham, Effingham, Bryan or Liberty County, Georgia or Beaufort or Jasper County, South Carolina.
